Most likely A because immigrants had the advantage of Settlement Houses. Settlement Houses were places of not necessarily refuge, but of shelter and protection where they were taught by Americans themselves about the culture and ways of the U.S. I'm sure they learned things from other immigrants here and there, too, but culture classes were what they write about in textbooks.

Posteriormente, el gobierno de Galo Plaza Lasso recibió el asesoramiento de la United Fruit, del FMI y del pensamiento cepalino sobre la Industrialización por sustitución de importaciones (ISI) con lo cual facilitó el apoyo estatal a través de la construcción de infraestructura adecuada, así como de créditos con intereses favorables para el cultivo de esta fruta, especialmente en El Oro y Santo Domingo. Sumado a esto, la mano de obra barata, abierta a la explotación y la riqueza del suelo ecuatoriano fueron factores que apoyaron el estallido de este boom económico.
