An activity is classified as a baseline activity if it does not require a great effort, which means it is a light-intensity activity. Examples of baseline activities include most daily activities such as walking slowly, sitting in class, watching a movie, etc. According to this, the one that is not a baseline activity is paddling a canoe because different from reading, sitting in class or using a calculator, this activity requires a considerable effort and it is a moderate or high-intensity activity and therefore it cannot be classified as a baseline activity.
That's because a baseline activity is a daily activity you do everyday for example when you walk, lift a light object, or running. Using a calculator is not consider a baseline activity because your not moving and its to light to have a affect on your muscles. Reading a book is a baseline activity because it requires you to lift the book whenever your reading it paddling a canoe requires your force because your pushing the water sitting class is a baseline activity because soon as that class is over you have to walk to go home, library, friends house, etc....
