During the latter part of the Zhou reign — in the Spring and Autumn period (771-482 B.C.) and the Warring States period (481-221 B.C.) — China expanded demographically and developed systems of political and social philosophy.

According to the National Palace Museum, Taipei: “The craftsmanship of the Western Zhou dynasty holds an important place in the history of technology. Major advances were made in the production of bronze and proto-glass vessels, as well as the development of proto-porcelain. The bronze burning-lens, designed according to optical theory, was also a noteworthy achievement. [Source: National Palace Museum, Taipei npm.gov.tw \=/ ]

Positive reinforcement increases responding and negative reinforcement ___________responding.
azamat

Increase; decrease

Punishment can be used in a positive or negative way, just like reinforcement. Any reinforcer, whether positive or negative, makes a behavioral response more likely. Positive or negative punishments both reduce the chance of a behavioral response.

What is Reinforcement?

Reinforcement is a technique used in behavioral psychology to strengthen an organism's future behavior whenever that behavior is preceded by a certain antecedent stimulus.

This strengthening effect may be quantified as increased behavior (e.g., drawing a lever more frequently), increased duration (e.g., pushing a lever for an extended period of time), increased magnitude (e.g., pulling a lever more firmly), or decreased latency (e.g., pulling a lever more quickly following the antecedent stimulus).

Self awareness, self reflection, and self regulation are the three key tenets of the self-regulatory paradigm of human behavior.

Traditionally, reinforcements support self-regulation.

Although the result may have an impact on the behavior, behavior also need antecedents.Four different types of reinforcement exist.

Positive and negative reinforcement punishment, extinction, and reinforcemen. The use of a positive reinforcer is known as positive reinforcement. In order to encourage the antecedent behavior from the subject, negative reinforcement is the practice of removing anything undesirable from the subject's environment.
