Answer:

21 child tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent number of adult tickets and y represent number of child tickets.

We have been given that on Thursday, three times as many adult tickets as child tickets were sold. We can represent this information in an equation as:

x=3y...(1)

We have been given that at a the movie theater, child admission is $6.10 and adult admission is $9.20.The all tickets were sold for a total of $707.70. We can represent this information in an equation as:

9.20x+6.10y=707.70...(2)

Upon substituting equation (1) in equation (2), we will get:

9.20(3y)+6.10y=707.70

27.6y+6.10y=707.70

33.7y=707.70

\frac{33.7y}{33.7}=\frac{707.70}{33.7}

y=21

Therefore, 21 child tickets were sold on Thursday.

tester [92]

Answer:

1. $8.30

Step-by-step explanation:

so 3 hats were purchased and each cost 15.50 so

15.50*3=46.50

and the rest of the 96.30 is 6 keychains so

96.30-46.50=49.80

and there is 6 keychains

49.80/6=8.30

Each key chain was $8.30

Claire's answer is unreasonable because when we got the price of the keychains all together in Claire's mind the total for the keychains would be $4.98, which we clearly got the total for the keychains at $49.80.

What is the area of this figure?

____ units²
skad [1K]
To solve the problem we could separate the figure into three parts. First figure is a triangle, second figure is a rectangle, third figure is a triangle. See image attached.

Solve each area of the figures
First figure, a triangle that have 7 units long of the base, and 2 units long of the height.
a = 1/2 × b × h
a = 1/2 × 7 × 2
a = 14/2
a = 7
The area of the first figure is 7 units²

Second figure is a rectangle, the length of the rectangle is 7 units, the width of the rectangle is 4 units.
a = l × w
a = 7 × 4
a = 28
The area of the second figure is 28 units²

Third figure is a triangle, the base is 7 units long and the height is 2 units long.
a = 1/2 × b × h
a = 1/2 × 7 × 2
a = 14/2
a = 7
The area of the third figure is 7 units²

The area of the three figures
area = first figure area + second figure area + third figure area
area = 7 + 28 + 7
area = 42
The total area of the figures is 42 units²
