Ezra was a skillful, learned scholar in the Law of Moses. There was a period in the Bible when Nehemiah asked Ezra to read the Law of Moses to the crowd. After which people and priests have entered into a covenant that they will keep the Law of Moses and separate themselves from those people who have not heard of such Law.
