Explanation:

Due to the upheaval of industrial revolution many industries sprang up and laborers were exploited and oppressed by being paid less, they were also made to work in a very menacing environment and worked with some lethal machines which were life risking and fatal. Hence, to protect the interest of the workers were the unions formed. They mostly fought for the fair wages, better working conditions and less hours of work.

Great rail road’s strike is the major strike by the workers which spread throughout the country and the strikers tries to stop the trains run by the government. Army troops were sent to stop the strikers who obstructed the public service and this totally turned out to be a violent strike.
