a mailing tube in the shape of cylinder has a height of 24 inches and a radius of 3 inches. what is the volume, in cubic inches,
TiliK225 [7]

ANSWER

The volume of the mailing tube is 678.6 square inches to the nearest tenth.

EXPLANATION

The volume of a cylinder is calculated using the formula;

V=\pi \:  {r}^{2} h

Since the mailing tube is in the form of a cylinder, we use this formula to find its volume.

We substitute h=24 and r=3 to obtain,

V=\pi \times {3}^{2} \times 24

V=216\pi  {in}^{2}

V=678.6{in}^{2}

How can I do ratios? I’ve been having a lot of trouble with this in my math class, and really need some help.
Katarina [22]

If you have a fraction, take one number and put a different number on top or underneath, for example if you have 2 cats and 3 dogs, the ratio from cats to dogs would be 2:3 but if you did 2 cats to the total number of animals, you would add 2 and 3 and get 5, so the ratio would be 2:5.

If there was a total of 30 computers and the computer lab is removing 3 broken computers and adding 13 wireless devices, about w
Liula [17]

32.5 % of lab are wireless devices

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that there was a total of 30 computers and the computer lab is removing 3 broken computers and adding 13 wireless devices

Now we can first find out total number of computers and devices in lab

total number of computers and devices in lab = 30 computers - 3 + 13 wireless devices

total number of computers and devices in lab = 30 - 3 + 13 = 40

So there are 40 computers and wireless devices in lab

<em><u>To find: what percent of the lab are wireless devices</u></em>

So we have to find what percent of 40 is 13

Let "a" be the required percent

a % of 40 = 13

\frac{a}{100} \times 40 = 13\\\\a = \frac{13 \times 100}{40}\\\\a = 32.5

32.5 % of of lab are wireless devices
