Separation of powers is balancing the amount of power the government has over the people into 3 branchesl
Judicial Branch
Legislative Branch
and Executive Branch
This is to make sure one person or group doesn't take advantage of having too much power that may be abused and used against their own citizens. You could remember this by remembering the name "Montesquieu" has 3 syllables for the 3 branches he caused ;D

The Kingdom of Benin prospered through A. the achievements of other forest cultures. B. war and conquest. C. the monopolization
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

A. The achievements of other forest cultures.

Explanation:

The pre-colonial kingdom of Benin was primarily ruled by kings and away/ safe from the colonizing British and European colonizers. This kingdom in the African continent of present day Southern Nigeria is a representation of one of the earliest kingdoms before coming under the colonizing rule of the Europeans and the British.

Ruled by Obas who are the mighty rulers, the Kingdom of Benin was a nation and an old, yet highly developed empire until its annexation into the British Empire in 1897. The kingdom had been living on its own away from any western influence be it the traders from Europe. Trade with the Portuguese did not start until 1485, and so until then, the kingdom has been thriving and eventually developing by assimilating their lives with the forests around them. They depended on the forest life and prospered through it, incorporating their cultures with that of the forest cultures.

An increase in skin cancer. UV rays are the dangerous sun rays that used to be deflected by the ozone layer. However, since the ozone has been deteriorating (due to things like pollution and global warming), we are less protected from these dangerous rays, which cause sunburns (and a higher chance of getting skin cancer).
