The right answer is <span>a tumor-suppressor gene.

Tumor suppressor gene has a role in the cell cycle to stop it at checkpoints, in order to verify that everything is okay in the cell and there's no DNA damage, if there's a DNA lesion, the cell must repair it before resuming its cycle. If there's no problem with the genetic material, the cell will proceed its cycle.
If these tumor suppressor gene is unfunctionnal, mutations will happen during the cell cycle withou being repaired, so it lead to a formation of tumors, and that is why it is called so.

These checkpoints happen specifically in G1 and G2 phases.

1. An enzyme is considered a(n) ____ because it speeds up a chemical reaction without being used up.2. In a catalyzed reaction,
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

(1)Catalyst, (2) substrate, (3) active site, (4)activation energy, (5)induced fit, (6)cofactor, (7)denature

Explanation:

An example of an enzyme is carbonic anhydrase. It catalyzes the reversible reaction between water and carbon dioxide, in the body, to form carbonic acid. This reaction would normally be very slow but is sped up in the body. This allows the body to regulate the pH of the blood and also helps gets rid of carbon dioxide from the tissues.
