Transformation of Periodic Functions [cos(x)]

For horizontal shifting:  +c (left)      -c (right)
For vertical shifting:      +d (up)      -d (down)

For horizontal scaling (period):        b↑   compressing      b↓  stretching
For vertical scaling (amplitude):      a>1  stretching          0<a<1 compressing

Refer to the chart I attached

I hope that helps!

Which function has a domain of {all real values of x : x does not equal 1)? **Hint: Graph the function and look for an asymptote
nikitadnepr [17]
Uhhh… this is a bad question. Because technically, none of those is the true correct answer. However, the only answer that it COULD be is B. If you were to plug in 1 into B, you’d get 0 in the denominator which creates an asymptote in the graph. None of the other three have this property

(Just a side rant, the reason none of them are technically correct is because x cannot equal -1 either… just some bonus points you could redeem with your teacher if you feel like it)
