First you start out by putting 15 into 19. you can put it into it once, so that makes the whole number 1. then you have 4 left over. so that makes it 1 4/15. you cannot simplify the number so that makes the answer 1 4/15

well, first off, let's divide 19 by 15, hmmm 19 ÷ 15  gives us a quotient of 1, and a remainder of 4.

for a mixed fraction, we put the quotient upfront and the remainder as the new numerator.

\bf \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{19}{15}}\implies \stackrel{quotient}{1}\frac{\stackrel{remainder}{4}}{15}\implies 1\frac{4}{15}

Work out the size of angle X.
larisa [96]

Answer:

x = 70°

Step-by-step explanation:

The external angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the 2 opposite interior angles.

120° is an external angle of the triangle, thus

x + 50 = 120 ( subtract 50 from both sides )

x = 70

How do you write the equation in slope-intercept form of the line that has a slope of 2 and contains the point (1,1)
harkovskaia [24]
First you have to put it into point-slope form before you can write it in slope-intercept form which is y-y1=m(x-x1)

Y-1=2(x-1)
Distribute the 2 to the x and -1
Y-1=2x-2
Move it all to one side
Y=2x-1

If a cylinder with height 9 inches and radius rr is filled with water, it can fill a certain pitcher. How many of these pitchers
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

9 pitchers

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Cylinder 1:

Radius = r

Height = 9

Cylinder 2:

Radius = 3r

Height = 9

Required

How many pitchers' cylinder 2 can fill

First, we calculate the volume of both cylinders

Volume is calculated as:

Volume = \pi r^2h

For A:

V_A = \pi r^2*9

V_A = 9\pi r^2

For B:

V_B = \pi (3r)^2 * 9

V_B = \pi *9r^2 * 9

V_B = 9* 9\pi r^2

In (a): V_A = 9\pi r^2

So, we have ve:

V_B = 9*V_A

V_B = 9V_A

<em>If the first cylinder can fill 1, then the second can fill 9 pitchers</em>
