Ok, so the first thing we need to do is group like terms.  So to do this, we need to add 6 to both sides.  So that leaves us with a new fraction of 5x = 16 - 3x.  Next, we need to add 3x to both sides.  That gives us 8x = 16.  Divide 16 by 8,, and you get your answer of x = 2.
