The myth attempts to explain
katen-ka-za [31]

A myth is a narrative used by the ancient Greek people to explain the facts of the reality and phenomena of nature, the origins of the world and of the man, which were not understood by them. The myths make use of a lot of symbology, supernatural characters, gods and heroes. All component these are combined with real facts, human characteristics, and persons who really existed.

One of the intentions of the myth was to transmit knowledge and to explain facts that science still had not explained, through rituals in ceremonies, dances, sacrifices, and prayers. A myth also can have the function of showing something in the strong form or of explaining the unknown subjects and making the world known to  Mankind.

A myth not always is practiced with correct symbology, because also it is used in reference to common beliefs without objective or scientific basis. Although, historical events can be turned into myths if it contains a very important symbology for a certain culture. Myth has a symbolic or explicative character, it is associated with some date or a religion, it tries to explain the origin of Mankind through supernatural characters, and explains the reality through its sacred histories.
