Electrical power was key to promote more industrial and cultural development .

Explanation:

The invention of lightbulb and mainly the use of electrical power was essential to boost the growth of Ametican cities in the late 1800.  For one side, lightbulb was used to put lights on the street improving security and  also to fabricate luminous banners  for theathers, cinemas, restaurants and more.
