Answer:

It will take 7.2 hours to produce a feet of snow.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the time taken it will take to produce feet of snow, we will follow the steps below;

First we will change the feet to inches

I feet = 12 inches

Using proportion;

Lat the time taken to produce a feet of snow be x

5 inches = 3 hours

12 inches  = x

Cross-multiply

5×x = 12× 3

5x = 36 hours

Divide both-side of the equation by 5

\frac{5x}{5}  = \frac{36}{5}

(At the left-hand side of the equation 5 will cancel-out 5 leaving us with just x while at the right-hand side of the equation 36 will be divided by 5)

x = 7. 2 hours.

Therefore, it will take 7.2 hours to produce a feet of snow.

Andru [333]
Important:  indicate exponentiation with " ^ "

Thus, x = ( y - 4 )2 + 27 becomes     <span>x = ( y - 4 )^2 + 27

This can be re-written as x = y^2 - 8y + 16 + 27, or x = ay^2 - 8y + 43.  This is the equation of the parabola in standard form   x = ay^2 + by + c.</span>

Find the area of the figure. Use 3.14 for st, and round your answer to the nearest tenth.
inysia [295]

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the composite figure = Area of the rectangle- area of the semicircle removed

= (length × width) - \frac{1}{2}(\pi )(r^{2} )

Since diameter of the semicircle is the width of the rectangle.

So, radius of the semicircle = \frac{3.8}{2}

= (3.8 × 9.2) - \frac{1}{2}(3.14)(\frac{3.8}{2})^{2}

= 34.96 - 5.6677

= 29.2923

≈ 29.3 in²

Therefore, area of the given composite figure is 29.3 in².

Option B is the correct option.
