The First Amendment (1791) to the U.S. <u>guarantees people's freedoms concerning, expression, assembly, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances. And it also prevents the government from creating a nationally recognized religion, as well as to prohibit it to restrict an individual’s religious practices.</u>
