The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The damages caused by Hurricane Mitch in 1998 were the following.

This terrible Hurricane killed more than 11,00o people from Central America. It struck this region on October 26, with category 5, causing severe damages. Scientists considered that Hurricane Mitch was one of the deadliest hurricanes in modern times for the destruction it caused and the people that died.

Latin Americans responded to this disaster by sending humanitarian help as soon as the storms and winds allow the airplanes and helicopters to fly to the region. People sent food and supplies, and Latin American countries sent soldiers to help people in need.

Other common natural disasters that affect people living in Latin America are earthquakes and volcanic explosions. Most people remember the strong earthquakes in México, Haiti, and Chile.

How can you decrease the likelihood of injuries while using forklifts?
steposvetlana [31]

The following are the ways to decrease the likelihood of injuries while using forklifts:

 • While loading the truck, take care that there are no possibilities of the load slipping off the mount of the forklift. Load the truck in a way that the load balances itself.
 • Use the ‘three points of contact’ rule by keeping two hands and a foot on the truck all the time during loading or unloading the truck.
 • Try avoiding jumping down from the truck. When the operator jumps down from the truck, there is a risk of a slip and fall.
 • Use the available equipment to stabilise or study the load. Do not try doing it by putting your physical strength to use.

Alenkasestr [34]

In the pillbug experiment, if the pillbugs in the experimental chamber would have moved to the side of the chamber with sand instead of cornstarch then the Pillbugs tend to prefer sand over cornstarch.

Pillbugs are categorised as terrestrial isopods and are in the crustacea family. The purpose of this experiment is to determine if pillbugs, often known as roly-polys, prefer light or darkness. They are cold-blooded, slow-moving organisms whose environs control their body temperatures.

The pill bugs are the controlled variable, and the behaviour of the pillbug is the dependent variable. The experimental group is housed in a moist environment with water and cornstarch, whereas the control group is in a dry environment with sand.
