In the second sentence the point of view changes to first person when the speaker uses "my" and talks about the favorite event. This puts the speaker into the middle of the section that was about Maria. It is distracting and confusing. The other options are simply incorrect. The same tone, style, and appropriate verb tense are used throughout the paragraph.
