First, the organism needs to be buried quickly so the bones do not rot, sinking in tar, sand storm sinking in mud etc. Over time more sediment will cover the organism, preventing decay. Being buried quickly and preserved away from predators are one of the reasons why marine life fossils are much more common the terrestrial animals as they are rarely preserved.

Which of the following attributes is common to both prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells?
yarga [219]

Answer:

b. the use of DNA as the information storage molecule

Explanation:

Prokaryotic cells are the ones that lack the membrane-bound organelles and well-defined nucleus. Eukaryotic cells have the nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. Most of the prokaryotic cells are smaller in size as compared to eukaryotic cells. Despite these differences, both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have DNA as their genetic material. DNA serves to store genetic information in both types of cells.

What is the main difference bwtween prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
Ymorist [56]

Prokaryotic Cells = do not have a nucleus; generally smaller and simpler that Eukaryotic cells.

-Smaller

-does NOT have a Nucleus

-translates to ‘no Nucleus’ OR ‘no true Nucleus’

-simpler

-they don't have all of their genetic material bound in a nucleus, which is why they are simpler forms of life.

-Prokaryotic cells do have genetic information but it is just stored differently

Ex: Bacteria and Single-Celled organisms

Eukaryotic Cells = Contains a Nucleus and are usually larger and more complex than a Prokaryotic cell

-Bigger

-DOES have a Nucleus

-More Complex

-Specialized to do certain things

Ex: All the Cells in a Human’s body. Skin cells, Red Blood cells
