The O! Company sells a juice in 1 gallon bottles. The current retail price of the juice is $3.50 for 1 gallon. In order to remai

n competitive, the company will decrease the price to $3.20 .
a. What percent of the original price are consumers going to pay?
b. Suppose the company's cost per 1 gallon is $2.70. What is the markup if they sell each gallon at &3.20? What is the markup if they sell each gallon at 3.50?

A) that’s a $.30 decrease so to find the percent you do the formula
3.50x=.30
3.50x/3.50=.30/3.50
X=.0857
.0857=8.57% so$3.20 is 8.57% of $3.50
B) $3.20 markup=18.5% and $3.50 markup is 29.6% but this depends on where you round up at and you get the answer the same way, with the formula $2.70x=.80 because $3.50-$2.70 =.80

A population has mean 187 and standard deviation 32. If a random sample of 64 observations is selected at random from this popul
Zina [86]

Answer:

11.51% probability that the sample average will be less than 182

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, we have to understand the normal probability distribution and the central limit theorem.

Normal probability distribution:

Problems of normally distributed samples are solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Central Limit theorem:

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, a large sample size can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 187, \sigma = 32, n = 64, s = \frac{32}{\sqrt{64}} = 4

What is the probability that the sample average will be less than 182

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 182. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

By the Central Limit Theorem

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{182 - 187}{4}

Z = -1.2

Z = -1.2 has a pvalue of 0.1151

11.51% probability that the sample average will be less than 182

5. Alea is 5 times 3 less than Leo's age. Alea is 40 years old. How old is Leo
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

Leo is 11 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- Alea is 5 times 3 less than leo's age

- Alea is 40 years old

- Assume that leo's age is x

* Lets change the words to equation

∵ Leo is x years old

∵ Alea is 5 times 3 less than Leo's age

- That means when we subtract 3 from Leo's age and multiply the

 difference by 5 the result is Alea's age

∴ Alea's age = 5(x - 3)

- Multiply the two terms of the bracket by 5

∴ Alea's age = 5x - 15

∵ Alea is 40 years old

- Equate the expression of Alea's age by her age

∴ 5x - 15 = 40 ⇒ the equation to find Leo's age

- Add 15 to both sides

∴ 5x = 55

- Divide both sides by 5

∴ x = 11 ⇒ the solution of the equation

∵ x represents the Leo's age

∵ x = 11

∴ Leo is 11 years old

50 POINTS! Reflect quadrilateral PQRS about the y-axis. Then translate the resulting quadrilateral 2 units down.
timama [110]

Answer:

  D.)  P’(12, 6), Q’(8, 7), R’(4, 4), and S’(7, 1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Reflection over the y-axis changes the sign of the x-coordinate:

  (x, y) ⇒ (-x, y) . . . . . reflection over the y-axis

Translation 2 units down, subtracts 2 from the y-coordinate:

  (x, y) ⇒ (x, y -2) . . . . . translation 2 units down

__

The combined transformation is ...

  (x, y) ⇒ (-x, y -2) . . . . . reflection over y-axis and translation 2 down

For point P, the image coordinates are ...

  P(-12, 8) ⇒ P'(-(-12), 8 -2) = P'(12, 6) . . . . matches choice D
