Equal to! When adding a negative and a posative the sum will always be a posative number. therefore you would just add as if the negative sign wasn't even there!

6 \leq 4+(-2x) \\  \\ 6 \leq 4-2x \\  \\ 6-4 \leq -2x \\ 2 \leq -2x \\ -2x \geq 2 \\ x \leq -1

The following represents the probability distribution of the number of classes a student takes in a spring semester.
Akimi4 [234]

Answer:

X        1       2       3         4          5          6

P(X) 0.115   a     0.422   0.312   0.034   0.015

If we want a probability distribution we need to satisfy two important conditions:

1) P(X_i) \geq 0, \forall i=1,2,3,4,5,6

2) \sum_{i=1}^n P(X_i) =1

And using the second condition we have this:

0.115+a+0.422+0.312 +0.034 +0.015=1

With a the probability associated with the value of X=2 and solving for a we got:

a = 1-0.115-0.422-0.312-0.034-0.015= 0.102

So then for this case P(X=2) = 0.102

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X the random variable that represent the number of classes that a student takes

For this case we have the following probability distribution given:

X        1       2       3         4          5          6

P(X) 0.115   a     0.422   0.312   0.034   0.015

If we want a probability distribution we need to satisfy two important conditions:

1) P(X_i) \geq 0, \forall i=1,2,3,4,5,6

2) \sum_{i=1}^n P(X_i) =1

And using the second condition we have this:

0.115+a+0.422+0.312 +0.034 +0.015=1

With a the probability associated with the value of X=2 and solving for a we got:

a = 1-0.115-0.422-0.312-0.034-0.015= 0.102

So then for this case P(X=2) = 0.102

Paige rolls a number cube sixty-four times. The number 4 comes up fourteen times. The number 3 comes up six times. Rounded to th
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

31%

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine the probability of obtaining 3 or any number in a roll, we divide the number of outcomes with the sample space.

           probability of 3 :    n = 6/64 = 3/32 = 0.09375

           probability of 4 :    n = 14/64 = 7/32 = 0.21875

Since, we use the conjuction "or", we therefore add up these probabilities.

                     n = 5/16 or 0.3125

Hope this Helps
