we have

f(x)=4x-3

g(x)=(2x-1)/3

Step 1

<u>Find the value of f(2)</u>

calculate the value of f(x) for x=2

f(2)=4*2-3

f(2)=5

Step 2

<u>Find the value of g(f(2))</u>

calculate the value of g(x) for x=f(2)

so

x=5

g(5)=(2*5-1)/3

g(5)=3

therefore

g(f(2))=3

<u>the answer is</u>

3

Value of g (f (2)) = 3

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Set A to set B is said to be a function if each member of set A pairs is exactly one member of set B

So, one value of x is only assigned to one value of y

A function can be expressed in the form of a cartesian diagram, sequential pairs, or arrow diagram

Like the number operations we do in real numbers, operations such as addition, subtraction, division or multiplication can also be done on two functions.

Suppose a function f (x) and g (x) then:

(f + g) (x) = f (x) + g (x)

(f + g) (x) is a new function of the sum of f (x) and g (x)

the other function operations:

  • (f-g) (x) = f (x) - g (x)
  • (fg) (x) = f (x) x g (x)
  • (f / g) (x) = f (x) / g (x)

In addition to the above operations, we can combine two functions using the function composition with the symbol "o"

(fog) (x) = f (g (x))

(gof) (x) = g (f (x))

Given

f(x)=4x-3

g(x) = \frac{2x-1}{3}

Then g(f (2))

f(2) = 4.2 -3

f(2) = 5

g(f (x) = g (5)

g(5)=\frac{2.5-1}{3}

g(5) = 3

so g(f(2)) = 3

If tan of theta =3/4 what is sec of theta
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

<u>5/4</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

  • tanθ = 3/4 = opposite/adjacent

Finding the missing side :

  • The hypotenuse must be found
  • √3² + 4²
  • √25
  • 5

Taking the sec ratio :

  • secθ = hypotenuse/opposite
  • secθ = <u>5/4</u>

The side lengths of a triangle are 6, 8 and 12. Is this a right triangle?
Anna [14]

Answer:

No it's not. 6 to the 2nd power + 8 to the 2nd power ≠ 12 to the 2nd power

Step-by-step explanation:

If you square the shorter lengths and add them together, they add up to one hundred

6^2 + 8^2 --> 38 + 64 = 100

Once you square 12 it equals 144

144 does not equal 100. There for it can't be a right triangle. To be a right triangle, it has to have a ratio pf 3: 4: 5.

Ex: 6: 8: 10,  12: 16: 20, etc.

Hope this helps!

Hope researches the impact of one variable on another. She graphs the data from her research and sees that the data forms a shap
BigorU [14]

The <em><u>correct answer</u></em> is:

She can determine that while there is an association between the variables, there is no correlation, and she cannot determine causation.

Explanation:

Since there is an arch shape to her graph, we know that as one variable changes, the other changes in the same manner. This means there is an association between the variables.

However, since the graph is not linear, there is no correlation between the variables. Since there is no correlation, we cannot determine causation.
