You are solving for the variable (c).

Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents (& roots), Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction)

First, subtract 8 from both sides

4c + 8 (-8) = 20 (-8)

4c = 20 - 8

4c = 12

Next, to fully isolate the variable (c), divide 4 from both sides

(4c)/4 = (12)/4

c = 12/4

c = 3

3 is your answer for c.

Answer:

c = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

4c + 8 = 20 \\ 4c = 20 - 8 \\ 4c = 12 \\   \frac{4c}{4}  =  \frac{12}{4}  \\ c = 3

Can you please solve and explain how
Karolina [17]

First, it would help to simplify each side more:

Left side: 36 + 3(4x - 9) = 36 + 12x - 27 = 12x + 9

Right side: c(2x + 1) + 25 = 2cx + c + 25

Write the simplified equation:

12x + 9 = 2cx + c + 25

Usually when there is no solution, the coefficients of the variable on both sides are the same, so we can make the coefficient if x on the right side into 12:

2cx >>> 12x

Then, c must equal 6 to make this true.

The answer is choice (C).

The size of angle aob is equal to 132 degrees and the size of angle cod is equal to 141 degrees. find the size of angle dob.
Varvara68 [4.7K]

angle AOB = 132 and is also the sum of angles AOD and DOB. Hence
angle AOD + angle DOB = 132°    ---> 1

angle COD = 141 and is also the sum of angles COB and BOD. Hence
angle COB + angle DOB = 141°    ---> 2

Now we add the left sides together and the right sides of equations 1 and 2 together to form a new equation.

angle AOD + angle DOB + angle COB + angle DOB = 132 + 141       ---> 3

We should also note that:
angle AOD + angle DOB + angle COB = 180°

Therefore substituting angle AOD + angle DOB + angle COB in equation 3 by 180 and solving for angle DOB:
180 + angle DOB = 132 + 141
angle DOB = 273 - 180 = 93°

The glee club has a set of 48 classical cds and a set of 42 show tune cds. each set can be divided equally among the club member
Hoochie [10]
We have to find the GCF (Greatest Common Factor) of 48 and 42 here...

Factors of 48:
1,2,3,4,6,8,12,16,24,48

Factors of 42:
1,2,3,6,7,14,21,42

The largest common factor of these two numbers is 6.

So, there can be a maximum of 6 members in the club..

Hope this helped!
