Solve the following equations<br> 7(3x + 5) - x = 75
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

7(3x + 5) - x = 75

1. Distributive property

multiply 7 by whatever is in the parenthesis

7*3x + 7*5 - x = 75

21x + 35 - x = 75

2. Combine like terms

21x - x = 20x

20x + 35 = 75

3. Subtract 35 on both sides

20x + 35 - 35 = 75 - 35

20x = 40

4. Divide both sides by 20 since u want to isolate the variable

20x/20 = 40/20

x = 2

And thats ur answer

Hope this helped!

The hot summer fair is coming to town. Admission to the fair costs $12.99 and each ride costs $1.75. You have $35 to spend at th
Mariana [72]

Admission cost to the fiar = $12.99.

Each ride cost = $1.75.

Let us assume number of rides = x.

a) Addimission charges + each ride cost *x <= Total money have.

We are given total money have = $35.

We can setup an inequality now

12.99 + 1.75*x <=35.

12.99 +1.75x <=35  is the required inequality.

b) Let us solve this inequality for x.

12.99 +1.75x <=35

Subtracting both sides by 12.99, we get

12.99-12.99 +1.75x <=35-12.99

1.75x <= 22.01.

Dviding both sides by 1.75

1.75x/1.75 <= 22.01/1.75

x< = 12.5771..

We got value of x less than or equal to 12.5771.... Number of rides could be a whole number.

Therefore, 12 are the maximum number of rides you can enjoy at the hot summer fair.
