Answer:

slope = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope is the rate of change of the function. Although not mathaticaly rigorous, the slope of the line is the same as the slope of an uphill road. It's just a number that shows you how much the function change for every tiny step you take to the right. In order to calculate it, given that we are talking about a line which slope is constant, you have two pick two points. The slope is the difference of their y coordinates, divided by the difference of their x coordinates.

For example let's pick the following two points:

A(0,0) and B(1,5)

slope = ( y_B - y_A ) / ( x_B - x_A )

= ( 5 - 0 ) / ( 1 - 0 ) = 5

However, the above is a mechanism you can follow even when the exercise is a tough one.

To sum up, the slope is a number that shows you how much tilted is the graph. For every step to the right, how much does the value of the function change?

Hope i helped ;)

Amanda [17]

Answer:

17.7 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

One of the legs of a right triangle measures 12 cm and the other leg measures 13 cm find the measure of the hypotenuse if necessary round the nearest 10th

To find the Hypotenuse of a right angle triangle, we solve using Pythagoras Theorem

Hypotenuse ² = Opposite ² + Adjacent ²

Hypotenuse = √Opposite ² + Adjacent ²

Opposite = 12 cm

Adjacent = 13 cm

Hence,

Hypotenuse = √12² + 13²

= √144 + 169

= 17.691806013 cm

Approximately = 17.7 cm

Therefore, the measure of the Hypotenuse is 17.7 cm
