Where did Champlain's travels along the St. Lawrence River take him to?
dimaraw [331]

The correct answer is C) the Great Lakes region.

Champlain's travels along the St. Lawrence River took him to "The Great Lakes region."

In addition to founding the city of Quebec, Samuel de Champlain was the first European to explore the Great Lakes. Samuel the Champlain(1574-1635), is considered by many the Father of New France. He was an explorer and cartographer that founded Quebec city in July 1608. He also navigated the St. Lawrence River and explored the New England coast up to what today is Nova Scotia.

What prevented the gulf coast as much agulture as pinney woods
Colt1911 [192]

The Gulf Coast region of the U.S. is the area limited by the shoreline of the coastal states of United States, being those Texas, Louisiana, Mississipi Alabama and Florida. This Gulf Coast on the Gulf of Mexico is characterized for its tendecy to be hit by hurricanes and this is the reason for having permanent floods and thunderstorms.

Forthis reason, it is reasonable to conclude that the soil is not quite ideal for agriculture as in other areas, so the correct answer to this question is D.Repeated flooding. Absence of irrigation is not quite the case since there are many sources of water in this region, as well as there is plenty of animal life, which does not interfere with agriculture, and finally, this territory has been populated for many native tribes and later from European settlers, so the other options are not really a reasonable choice.

What was the original purpose of the criminal justice system in the US
alekssr [168]
The original purpose was similar to the purpose it has today. I think the words criminal justice system speaks for itself. A criminal justice system is made for criminal justice. Criminals are people who violate a systems laws and regulations. This harms not only others but a created system of regulation itself. There has to be justice for criminals- this really benefits them in the end.
