<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

B. toward the south

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • The right hand rule to determine the direction of magnetic force. This rule state that <em><u>if the thumb, the fore finger, and the middle finger of the right hand are held at right angles to one another, with the fore finger pointing in the direction of the magnetic field, and the middle finger pointing in the direction of the positive charge, then the thumb will point in the direction of the magnetic force.</u></em>
  • In this case, <u><em>the positive charge is moving from the floor towards the ceiling, the magnetic field from east to west direction, thus  suing the right hand rule, the direction of the magnetic force will be towards the south.</em></u>

"Towards south" is the one among the following choices given in the question that is the direction of the magnetic force on the moving positive charge. The correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the second option or option "B". I hope that the answer has actually come to your help.

A submarine can detect an approaching enemy submarine using sonar. If a stationary submerged submarine emits a 100kHz tone and r
prisoha [69]

Answer:

B ) 1.5 m/s

Explanation:

For the apparent frequency reflected by enemy submarine , the Doppler effect formula is

F = F₀ ( V + v) / (V - v)

F anf F₀ are real and apparent frequency , V and v are velocity of sound and velocity of enemy submarine respectively.

ΔF / F₀ = \frac{2\times v}{V -v}

Put ΔF = 200;  F₀ = 100000 and  V = 1482

200 / 100000 = \frac{2\times v }{1482-v}

v = 1.5 m s⁻¹ .

The greatest ocean depths on the Earth are found in the Marianas Trench near the Philippines. Calculate the pressure (in atm) du
frozen [14]

Answer:

P = 103867260 atm

Explanation:

The pressure at the bottom of any liquid column is equal to product of density of the liquid , gravitational acceleration constant (g) and height of the water column

Thus, P = \rho*g*h

Substituting the given values, we get -

P = 1029 kg/m3 * 9.8 m/s^2  *10.3 *1000 meters

P = 103867260 atm

A car is traveling in a race. The car went from the initial velocity of 35 m/s to the final velocity of 6 m/s in 5 seco
ddd [48]

Answer:

Explanation:

Acceleration =  a change in velocity / a change in time

Acceleration = ( final velocity - initial velocity) / a change in time

Acceleration = (6m/s - 35 m/s ) / 5 s

                     = (-29 m/s) /( 5 s)

                     = - 5.8 m/s^^2

Remember Significant Figures

- 6 m/s^2

P.S I have no idea why the answers say m/s because acceleration is m/s^2.

A college student holds a pail full of water by the handle and whirls it around in a vertical circle at a constant speed. the ra
Gwar [14]
Here we have a circular motion. In that type of motion two new forces appear: centrifugal and centripetal. Centrifugal force tries to move object away frome the center of rotation. Centripetal force is the reason why object moves in a circle.

According to Newton's first law, in order for water not to spill out total force acting on water must be equal to zero. Forces acting on the water are gravitational and centrifugal.
0= F_{g} + F_{c}  \\ - [tex]F_{g} = F_{c} \\ m*g= \frac{m* v^{2} }{r}  \\ g= \frac{ v^{2} }{r} \\  v^{2} =g*r \\  v= \sqrt{g*r}  \\ v= \sqrt{9.81*0.95}  \\ v= \sqrt{9.3195}  \\ v=3.1 m/s [/tex]

Forces have opposite signs as they act in opposite directions. But their value is the same so we can ignore signs:
