Total cost of a $56.53 meal after including a 17% tip?

What you're going to do is find 1% of what you paid for:

This is done by moving the decimal place to the left two, or dividing the number by 100.

56.53/100
0.5653

You will then get:
0.5653

That is how much 1% of your meal costs, but we're looking for 17%. So to get 17% we will mutiply that by 17.

.5653 * 17 = 9.62

Now, this number is how much the TIP only will be. Next step is to add this to the number of how much your initial meal costed.

56.53 + 9.62 = $66. 15

Total cost = $66.15

<span>What you do is just multiply $56.53 by 1.17. That represents 117% (100% for the meal and 17% for the tip).
Hope that helps! You should get $66.1401, but since you cant have a hundredth of a penny, its just $66.14. :)</span>

Which of the following sets would have a graph with an open circle on 2 and a ray pointing left on the number line?
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

{x | x∈ R, x < 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Open circle on 2

Arrow pointing left

Required

Determine the inequality

An open circle on 2 means represents either < or >

The arrow points to the left of -2 means that the number line represents numbers less than 2. i.e. < 2

Represent the numbers with x.

The inequality is: x < -2

Using proper notation, the inequality is:  {x | x∈ R, x < 2}

A triangle in the coordinate plane has coordinates of (3, 5), (1, −3), and (−3, 4). It is translated so that its new coordinates
Alisiya [41]

Given that a triangle in the coordinate plane has coordinates of (3, 5), (1, −3), and (−3, 4). Now these points are translated and the new coordinates are (1, 7), (−1, −1), and (−5, 6).

Questioon says to find which type of translation occured from the given choices.

It can be easily found by drawing the given coordinates.

Original position of the triangle is drawn in Brwon colour.

New position of the triangle is drawn in Green colour.

From graph we can clearly see that each of the original coordinate moves two unit left then 2 units upward to get new coordinate.

Hence choice "A) It moved left two units and up two units." is the final answer.

How much would $300 invested at 4% interest compounded monthly be
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

$412.92

Step-by-step explanation:

You are going to want to use the compound interest formula, which is shown below.

A=P(1+\frac{r}{n} )^{nt}

<em>P = initial balance </em>

<em>r = interest rate </em>

<em>n = number of times compounded annually </em>

<em>t = time </em>

<em />

The first step is to change 4% into its decimal form:

4% -> \frac{4}{100} -> 0.04

Now plug in the values:

A=300(1+\frac{0.04}{12})^{(12)8}

A=412.92

It would  be worth $412.92

Write a real-world
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

<u>Problem:</u>  Jamie was driving for 24 miles in the first hour and 36 miles is the second hour.  But, she stopped at a gas station 1/4 of the total drive.  Find how far the gas station is from her start.

<u>Answer:</u>

24 + 36 = 50

50 * 1/4 = 50/4

50/4 = 12.5

<u>Explanation:</u>  The gas station is 12.5 miles from her start to a 50 mile journey.  The gas station was 1/4 of the total drive which was 50 miles.  1/4 of 50 is 12.5
