The high fiber diet will cause more absorption of water. Thus the body will require more water and the tendency for drinking more water will enhance in the body. This is necessary for solubilization of the fibers and digestion so that these can be excreted out from the body smoothly with other food components. Otherwise, if one do not drink water then conditions of gas and constipation will develop.
