HI!

So the square root of 128 is 11.31.

You would know that it is more than 11 since 11^2 is 121 which is 7 less than 128.

So the answer would be between 11.3 and 11.4

also 12^2 is 144

121 and 144 are 23 points away and that divided by 10 is 23/10. 23/10 is a little more than 2. so everytime 121 is added by 2, go up by .1

so....

121+2 = 123

11 + .1 = 11.1

123+ 2 = 125

11.1 + .1 = 11.2

125+2=127

11.2+.1=11.3

127+2=129

11.3+.1=11.4

and you would know that square root of 128 is between 11.3 and 11.4

Hope this helps!

the combined area of two squares is 45 square centimetres each side is twice as long as a side of the other square what length o
Ostrovityanka [42]

Answer:

Let the side of  one square be x.    Area = x*x = x²

Then the side of other square  would be 2x ,   Area = 2x*2x = 4x²

Combined area = x² + 4x²  = 5x²

This combined area = 45 cm²

you simplify

Therefore  5x²  = 45   Divide both sides by 5

                 x²  =  45/5

                 x²  = 9        Take square root of both sides

                 x   =  √9

                 x  = 3

Length of larger square is 2x  = 2*3 = 6 cm

Length of larger square = 6cm

3(x - 6) + 6 = 5x - 6. what is the solution<br>
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

x=-3

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

3(x−6)+6=5x−6

(3)(x)+(3)(−6)+6=5x+−6(Distribute)

3x+−18+6=5x+−6

(3x)+(−18+6)=5x−6(Combine Like Terms)

3x+−12=5x−6

3x−12=5x−6

Step 2: Subtract 5x from both sides.

3x−12−5x=5x−6−5x

−2x−12=−6

Step 3: Add 12 to both sides.

−2x−12+12=−6+12

−2x=6

Step 4: Divide both sides by -2.

−2x

−2

=

6

−2

x=−3
