What is the mechanical advantage of the block and tackle used to lifted the bale of Cotten?
Liono4ka [1.6K]
Invented by Archimedes around 250 BC, a Block is a set of pulleys on an axle in a housing. When rope is run through a block or a series of blocks, the whole assembly is called a Tackle. The most common arrangement is to have one1 block attached to a fixed position and another block left to move with the load being pulled or lifted. The mechanical advantage of a block and tackle is equal to the number of time the same line is attached to or runs through the moving block. The pulley on the left does not have a block on the Bale. When you pull on the rope, you are pulling the full weight of the bail. The tackle on the right has 4 lines running through its pulleys. This would allow you to lift 20 pounds with only about 5 pounds of pressure on the hauling part of the line. While the block and tackle is still used today, it has been largely replaced with the electric winch.

The rope used in the 1800's would have been of natural fiber like we have in this exhibit. The rope around the bail is made of SISAL which comes from the leaves of the agave plant. Cotton rope is running in the blocks. Notice how soft it is compared to the SISAL fiber rope. Jute fiber twine, from the Corchorus plant, is used to tie the ends of the larger ropes. It is the same fiber woven to make burlap sacks. Natural fiber rope continued to be in widespread use until the 1950s when synthetic fibers, such as nylon, became popular.

Go find 5 materials that's u can use in ur garden. <br>Please answer.
belka [17]

Answer:

  • Soil knife to make digging the soil easier
  • Handheld pruners to fix and prune the plants of your garden
  • Gloves to keep your hands save from any harmful or chemical substance.
  • Binder twine to maintain the plants (to tie their stems together)
  • A notepad and pen to check the progress of your plants (e.g.: you might need to note down whether a plant may need more water or nutrients (mineral ions), if you see a plant almost wilting, appropriate actions must be taken so notepad and pen can help you track this down, so that you can get the appropriate resources needed)

All of the above

Determine the role that tolerance may play in a case.

Explanation:

The field sobriety test is a standard field test which is done by the police officer to determine whether the person suspected of impaired driving is intoxicated with drugs or alcohol. This confirms the presence of alcohol in an individual driver.

Metabolism is a process of conversion of complex food particles or drugs or alcohol into water soluble metabolites so that these can be excreted out from the body readily. The metabolism process deactivates the potent drug, it converts the drug into substances which can be used for producing energy for metabolic reactions. The ethyl alcohol is also converted into acetic acid which is less potent metabolite, which can be excreted out from the body.

A forensic toxicologists is a scientists who performs the laboratory based tasks for identify the origin and concentration of drugs. They also determine the conversion of drug into metabolites in the body. Such a scientists have no role in observing and determining the tolerance of drug in a particular case this is the role of forensic psychologists.
