Massive class inequality. Nobles and Clergymen were, in the French citizen's eyes, wasting money to fuel their lavish life style. They believed the 1% were living off the other 99% and they were right. France had a huge economic downfall after supporting the American Revolution so the citizens thought it unfair that the problem the government caused should be forced on them alone.
I think it’s financial success
In the year 1803, the United States of America purchased the approximately 828 million square miles of territory from France, doubling its territory. Because of Thomas Jefferson's purchase of the Louisiana territory, 15 states were added in the territory of America. It stretched from the Canadian border in the north to the Gulf of Mexico in the south and from the Rocky Mountains in the west to the Mississippi River in the East.
Lack of incentive - The lack of incentive among the colonists to complete important tasks led to the tasks not getting done. Many settlers were "gentlemanly" - Since most of the settlers considered themselves "gentlemanly", they considered the hard work of a settler "beneath" them and consequently did not get most of the basic things needed to survive done.
Expectations of finding gold - The expectations of finding gold (and mining it) led to people neglecting things such as gathering food, setting up shelter, etc. Location - The location that the settlers chose to settle in at was great for defending against naval incursions but terrible for living conditions. Bad Relations with Natives- The relations with the local Native Americans(which were all mistakenly grouped up into the Powhatan Indians) were not as good as they could be; if they had had a better relationship they could have traded for food and/or shelter which could have led to lower mortality rates
The Catholic Church strongly opposed the spreading of the heliocentric theory because it meant that the holy book of Christianity, the Bible, was wrong, and that what they were propagating for centuries that the Earth was the center of the universe and that everything circles around our planet was a lie. This was going to make a big damage on the credibility of the church and the skepticism towards it would have grown more and more. The church, considering it had the power, was using all measures possible to stop this, so lots of scientists found themselves imprisoned, hanged, burned alive, killed brutally...
