Which of the following statements best describes a shared characteristic of co-translational protein import into the ER and prot

ein import into the mitochondrial matrix?a. Proteins to be imported are recognized by SRPb. Proteins to be imported are unfolded by a chaperone of the Hsp70 familyc. Proteins to be imported into both organelles have to be in an unfolded conformationd. Protein import depends on the activation state of a small GTPasee. Protein import depends on an ATPase that pulls the protein across the membrane

Copying of the information in dna into rna, which can exit the nucleus is called
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
Definition:
"Copying of information from DNA to RNA which exit nucleus is known as transcription"

Explanation:

Transcription is a vital process for living organisms, because it is a staring point for protein synthesis. It occurs inside the nucleus and is carried out by RNA polymerase enzyme. In eukaryotes RNA pol is of three types: these are RNA Pol 1, RNA Pol 2, and RNA Pol 3. In prokaryotes it is of only one type.

Steps in transcription:
Transcription consists of three main steps
1. Initiation:
In this step RNA pol attach to DNA template at 5 prime end in the promoter region to start the formation of complementary strand of RNA. In prokaryotes there is a region called Pribnow box, with the consensus sequence TATAAT present about 10 base pair away from site that serves as a transcription initiation. In eukaryotes the promoter region is more complex it contain activator and enhancer.

2. Strand elongation:
Once transcription is initiated, the DNA double helix unwinds and RNA polymerase reads the template strand, adding nucleotides to the 3′ end of the growing chain.

3. Transcription Termination:
                                                T
erminator sequences are found close to the ends of non-coding sequences. Before termination polyadenylation occurs.

What is the general formula for fatty acids?
notsponge [240]

Answer:

Fatty acids are long chain carboxylic acids, they contain the carboxyl, COOH, functional group. The general formula for a fatty acid is R-COOH where R represents a long hydrocarbon chain. If the hydrocarbon chain, R, contains only single bonds between the carbon atoms, the fatty acid is said to be saturated.

Which of the following are possible treatments for multiple sclerosis? There may be more than one correct answer. Which of the f
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

--Block immune cells from crossing the blood brain barrier.

--Stimulate the regeneration of myelin.

Explanation:

Multiple sclerosis or shortly known as MS is an unpredictable disease caused in the humans. Multiple sclerosis affects the central nervous system of our brain which causes the disruption in the flow of the information within our brain, and between our brain and the body.

It is a very rare disease.

The symptoms of MS may vary and includes double vision, weakness, fatigue, impaired coordination, pain, etc. Though there is no permanent cure for MS but scientist and doctors around the world suggest that by blocking the immune cells and stopping them from crossing our blood brain barrier can prevent this disease.

Multiple sclerosis can also be prevented by stimulating the myelin to regenerate.
