A hypothetical three-step metabolic pathway consists of the intermediates W, X, Y, and Z, and the enzymes that catalyze the reac
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

ZBWCYAX

Explanation:

Equation for the intermediates: Z↔W↔Y↔X

1) B catalyzes the breakdown of Z, therefore inhibiting B leads to the build up of Z.

2) If enzyme C is inactive then the organism will not  receive Y to grow, thus Y is a by-product of C.

3) If A is inhibited then W, Y and Z build except for X, thus it make sense that A catalyzes a reaction that leads to X as a by-product.

4) Inhibiting C leads to the reaction toward making Z and W, thus it catalyzes the breakdown of C directly and Z indirectly.

Explain why an envelope virus that simply leaks out of an infected cell can be worse than a virus that quickly lyses and kills t
o-na [289]

Answer:

The enveloped viruses are resistant to disinfectants.

Explanation:

The outer covering or the envelope in the virus comes from the infected cell. This envelope is formed by the process called as budding off, from the host cell. The envelope that covers the virus provides resistance to various disinfectants and prevent virus from damage. The outer coat (envelope) is formed of a small part of cell membrane.

The virus that lyses and kills the cell immediately is less worse than the enveloped virus. The virus that kills cells immediately prevents the host cell from continuously synthesizing new virus particles. Thus, no more viral particles can be produced by the host cell. So, envelope viruses are worse that viruses that directly kills the host cell.

  2. It is unicellular.
  3. It has flagella (usually two) known as haptonema. These structures help in attachment and feeding.
  4. The plastids are surrounded by four-layered membranes.
  5. Its species are mostly found in the marine environment, thus classified as phytoplanktons.
  6. Many members of prymnesiophyceae have cell covering made up of calcium carbonate. These structures are known as coccoliths.

What happened when many water molecules come into contact with one another? explain.
Sever21 [200]
When they come into contact with each other they are attracted to each other and the orientation matters because the Hydrogen of one molecule will align with the Oxygen in another water molecule.
