Answer:
Renewable energy is when a never-ending natural resource is used to generate energy; these natural resources recreate themselves and are not at the risk of extinction. The examples of renewable energy are sunlight, wind power, geothermal heat and etc. On the other hand, there are non-renewable energy that is generated from fossil remains such as coal, oil and etc. The remains of animals and plants are decomposed for millions of year to form fossil fuels. Today, most countries on this planet use non-renewable sources to produce electricity, run cars, run machinery in industries and etc. It is possible to stop the extinction of fossil fuels and maintain eco friendly environment if we use renewable resources for energy instead of nonrenewable. Sunlight is the most important source of renewable energy. It is required by all of the living beings to survive in this planet which we call Earth. The best way to store sunlight is through solar panels. What these solar panels do is capture the sunlight, stores them and converts them into energy. This process has low or no carbon emission in the atmosphere. The basic benefit of using solar energy is that it kicks out the use of non-renewable energy, which pollute our planet. Also, to promote the renewable energy, government buys electricity from house owner who has solar panel installed. Installing solar panels also helps cut down expenses as people can generate their own electricity. According to Lewis (2007), the energy from sunlight hits earth in an hour is more than the energy consumed by humans in the whole year. Therefore there is no doubt that we have enough energy from sunlight to power earth. The solar electricity market is growing at 30% per annum, which means within few decades this will give competition to companies using fossil fuels. When the wind blows, the blades of wind turbines rotate the shaft and the rotation of the shaft convert the energy to electricity. This is a natural process and wind regenerates itself. This is a quiet process and no harmful green house gases are released into released in the environment.
