Solution:

                                      $=\frac{1}{2}\times 8 \times 15$

                                      = 60 cm²

Area of 2 triangular faces = 2 × 60 = 120 cm²

Area of sloping rectangular side = length × width

                                                      = 17 × 2

                                                      = 34 cm²

Area of back rectangular side = length × width

                                                  = 8 × 2

                                                  = 16 cm²

Area of bottom side = length × width

                                  = 15 × 2

                                  = 30 cm²

Total surface area = 120 cm² + 34 cm² + 16 cm² + 30 cm²

                               = 200 cm²

The total surface area of the triangular prism = 200 cm²
