Answer:

-$193,250

Explanation:

Relevant Initial Investment:

= New Investment + Gains × (-Tax rate) + Salvage Value

= -235,000 + 15,000 × (-35%) + 47,000

=  -$235,000 - $5,250 + $47,000

= -$193,250

Net working capital is a cash outflow at the beginning of the project but it will be recovered at the end.

So, it is not considered as initial investment.

SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

a. The firm’s value is $88,909

b. The stock price is $7.56

c. The maximum premium SuperBuyout is willing to pay for SuperOil’s shares is $3,200

Explanation:

a. In order to calculate the firm’s value we would have to calculate the following calculation:

firm’s value=EBIT*(1-Tax rate)/WACC

EBIT*(1-Tax rate)=($100,000-$70,000)*(1-0.35)

EBIT*(1-Tax rate)=$19,500

WACC=weight of debt*cost of debt(1-t)+weight of equity*cost of equity

WACC=0.15*7*(1-0.35)+0.85*25

WACC=21.9325%

Therefore, firm’s value=$19,500/21.9325%

firm’s value=$88,909

b. In order to calculate its stock price we would have to calculate the following calculation:

stock price=Equity value/number of shares

Equity value=0.85*$88,909

Equity value=$75,572

Therefore, stock price=$75,572/10,000

stock price=$7.56

c. In order to calculate the maximum premium SuperBuyout is willing to pay for SuperOil’s shares we would have to make the following calculation:

maximum premium SuperBuyout is willing to pay=(stock price-value per share)*number of shares

maximum premium SuperBuyout is willing to pay=($7.56-$7.24)*10,000

maximum premium SuperBuyout is willing to pay=$3,200

Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

The insurance expense to be recorded for period ended 31 January 2013 is $900

The insurance expense to be recorded for period ended 31 January 2014 is $1200

Explanation:

From the date of insurance premium payment till 31 January 2013 gives a period of nine months, which means that nine months of insurance premium should be recognized as expense in that period.

January 31 2013 insurance expense=$2400*9/12

                                                            =$900

From February 1 2013 till  January 31 2014, gives a complete year, which means 12-month insurance premium should be recognized in that period,hence the below calculation:

January 31 2014 insurance expense=$2400*12/24

                                                             =$1200

Amounts owed to suppliers for products and/or services purchased on credit.

Explanation:

Accounts payable are basically short term debts that a company has with its suppliers. E.g. a retailer purchases goods from a wholesaler on terms n/30. In this case, the accounts payable would be the amount of money owed to the retailer. There is no specific time frame for an accounts payable, since it varies depending on the credit that the supplier gives. E.g. sometimes a supplier will sell on a 45 day credit period, or even 60 day period.
