For example a forest, if there is a small lake and many animals live there then the resourcewill be lower and the food source (animals eating each other) will be higher but if they eat plant the plants will be lower since many are competing for the same food source

Answer:

The correct answer would be "population size is limited by the availability of resources".

Limiting factors in an ecosystem such as the availability of resources or food limit the growth rate of a population in any ecosystem.

The population size can not reach beyond the carrying capacity of the ecosystem.

The carrying capacity can be defined as the maximum size of a population ecosystem support without getting any adverse effects.

How is the variation in color and markings beneficial to the orchid plant?
masha68 [24]

The variation in color and markings is beneficial to the orchid plants because it helps the flowers pollinate efficiently (Option C). It is an adaptation.

What is an adaptation?

An adaptation is an evolutionary trait that allows an organism to take advantage of survival and/or reproduction.

Orchid color can attract pollinators by mimicking flowers of plant species that live in the same area.

It is an adaptation known as mimetism, which allows them to take an evolutionary advantage.
