Given an individual who is heterozygous for a recessive disease (i.e., the wildtype allele is dominant), explain how a deletion
omeli [17]

Answer:

Let us consider that A signifies the dominant allele and letter a signifies the recessive allele. The dominant allele, A would demonstrate normal phenotype, on the other hand, the recessive allele, a would be accountable for the disease. The possibilities of genotypes and phenotypes would be AA demonstrating normal homozygous individual, Aa demonstrating normal heterozygous individual, and aa demonstrating homozygous individual carrying the disease.

Based on the given question, the genotype of the individual would be Aa, due to the existence of the dominant allele, normal phenotype would be demonstrated by the individual. In case if the deletion of A allele takes place from the genotype, the left a allele would possess the tendency to show its effect and the expression of the recessive phenotype will take place.

Hemizygous refers to the condition in which only one allele is found in a diploid organism, and the organism within which it takes place is known as hemizygote.

Mendel came up with his law of independent assortment through his investigation studying
dusya [7]
All of the answers presented above are correct.
Before Gregor Mendel's research, it was believed that parents' characteristics were passed down to the next generation were not inherited as separate units, but blended together in the next generation.
While he was studying the inheritance of different traits of the pea plant such as the height of the plant, the shape and color of the seed and the variability of the color of the flowers.
During his experiments, he noticed that the simple traits as height were passed down to the filial generation separately, so they were not blending in the next generation as it was previously thought.
He managed to get purebred plants for certain traits by self-pollination of the pea plants and used them for this experiments.
He determined that some of the traits were expressed more often and with a higher ratio and called them dominant, as opposed to recessive traits that were expressed less often when cross-breeding with an individual with a dominant trait.
