Biology

A heart murmur is a condition in which abnormal heart sounds are determined with the help of a stethoscope. Normally, a heart valve makes a distinct clicking sound when it snaps shut. With a murmur, the click is replaced by a sound similar to blowing. This abnormal sound can indicate the turbulent flow of blood through a narrowed valve or backward (retrograde) flow back toward the atria then through a broken valve.

Why are theories stronger and more reliable than hypotheses
monitta

Answer:

A hypothesis is an educated guess that is made before research takes place. A theory is an explanation of the natural world and the universe. It explains facts that have already been proven true and is supported by data. A theory can be repeatedly tested and verified, and if proven true, makes the theory even stronger. Even if the theory is proven false, it is simply modified. This is why theories are much more reliable than hypotheses.

Which of these best explains why mitochondria are called the "powerhouses" of the cell?
Sindrei [870]

<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

They generate chemical energy in the form of ATP.

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>

Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell because they "burn" or break the chemical bonds of glucose to release energy to do work in a cell. This releases energy (ATP) for the cell. The more active a cell (such as a muscle cell), the more mitochondria it will have.
