Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

3x-2y=10

5x+y=4

15x-10y=50

15x+3y=12

-13y=38

y=-38/13

Substitute for y

x=54/39

Which is the correct answers? (more than one)
viktelen [127]

B True because both graphs approaches x=0 but never touches it

E True if you just graph it out you can see that graph of g is going down and the graph of x is going up

A false because neither of the equations have a y intercept they have asymptote of x=0

C false because it is also a reflection across the x axis

D incorrect is because they both have domain {0<x<♾}

Hope this helped!

Two people start from the same point. One walks east at 4 mi/h and the other walks northeast at 8 mi/h. How fast is the distance
kvasek [131]

Answer:

5.89 mi/h

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem can be solved by using different methods. I will use vectors since it's the simplest way in which we can solve it. This can be solved by using related rates of change though.

First, we start by drawing a diagram with the velocity vectors.

A= velocity of the first person

B= velocity of the second person

C= velocity in which they are moving away from each other.

Since there is no acceleration in the problem, we can suppose we are talking about constant speeds, so the velocity at which they are moving away from each other will always remain constant. (It doesn't matter what time it is, the velocity will always be the same)

Having said this we can solve this problem by using the components, by using law of cosines or graphically. I will use law of cosines. The idea is to find the length of side c.

Law of cosines:

C^{2}=A^{2}+B^{2}-2ABcos \gamma

so we can solve the formula for C so we get:

C=\sqrt{A^{2}+B^{2}-2ABcos \gamma}

and now we can substitute the values we know:

C=\sqrt{(4)^{2}+(8)^{2}-2(4)(8)cos 45^{o}}

C=\sqrt{16+64-32\sqrt{2}}

C=\sqrt{80-32\sqrt{2}} mph

if we want an exact answer, then that will be the exact answer, which approximates to:

C=5.89 mph

The Hamilton Brush Company issued 2,500 shares of common stock worth $100,000.00 total. What is the par value of each share?
alexandr1967 [171]
What we know here is that all 2500 shares together are worth 100 000 dollars in total. (it's 100 000.00 actually, but we can ignore the part after the point, as it's equal to 0).

This means that each of the shares is valid the whole sum divided by the number of shares, that is:
\frac{100000}{2500} = \frac{1000}{25} =40
(first i divided both denominator and numerator by 100)
So each value is worth 40 dolars.
