[|] Answer [|]

\boxed{N \ = \ 7/10}

[|] Explanation [|]

(2n + 4) + 6 = -9 + 4(2n + 1)

N = ?

____________

Expand: - (2n + 4) + 6:     -2n + 2

- (2n + 4)     -2n - 4

= -2n - 4 + 6

Add / Subtract Numbers: -4 + 6 = 2

= -2n + 2

Expand: -9 + 4(2n + 1):   8n - 5

-9 + 4 (2n = 1)

Expand: 4(2n + 1):   8n + 4

= -9 + 8n + 4

Add / Subtract Numbers: -9 + 5 = -5

= 8n - 5

_________________

-2n + 2 = 8n - 5

Subtract 2 From Both Sides:

-2n + 2 - 2 = 8n - 5 - 2

Simplify:

-2n = 8n - 7

Subtract 8n From Both Sides:

-2n - 8n = 8n - 7 - 8n

Simplify:

-10 = -7

Divide Both Sides By -10:

-10/-10 = -7/-10

Simplify:

N = 7/10

F = uv/u + v make u the subject
never [62]

I'm assuming that you mean

\dfrac{uv}{u+v}

because if you meant

\dfrac{uv}{u}+v

then u would simplify and you couldn't make it the subject.

Under this assumption, we start with

F=\dfrac{uv}{u+v}

We multiply both sides by u+v

F(u+v)=uv

We expand the left hand side:

Fu+Fv=uv

We move all terms involving u to the left and all terms not involving u to the right:

Fu-uv=-Fv

We factor u on the left hand side:

u(F-v)=-Fv

We divide both sides by F-v

u=\dfrac{-Fv}{F-v}

A hole occurs when both numerator and denominator of  a rational function have the same factor.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

While graphing rational function, it has to be converted into the lowest terms by factoring the numerator and denominator. If the numerator and denominator has the same factor, a hole is said to have occurred and to solve the rational function, you have to set the common factor to zero.

After you set it to zero and solve, you obtain the x value which can be then used to find out the value of y.
