Question: Explain where to place the two beams.  (10 points)

Copy and Paste Answer: Using a graph to represent the roller coaster, 0 would be the center of it and on each side of it there would be two beams the exact same distance from 0. When we solved the equation and got x= 16.58 we know that is the location of one of the beams. To find where the other beam is located, simply do the same distance of 16.58 on the other side of 0 (the center of the roller coaster.) The beams would be placed at 16.58 and -16.58 on the x axis.

Good luck guys! I just did this assignment and this question really had me stumped until I really thought about it. You guys can do it! :D

Darcy harvests 8 3/4 acres of corn every 5/6 of an hour.Darcy harvests corn at a constant rate. How many acres does she harvests
andrey2020 [161]

Answer:

10.50 acres per hour or 1.75 per 10 minutes(1/6 of an hour)

Step-by-step explanation:

5/6 of an hour is 50 minutes

1/6 of an hour is 10 minutes

8 3/4 is equal to 8.75

8.75/5 is equal to 1.75 which means she harvests 1.75 acres per hour

1.75 x 6(hour) is equal to 10.50 acres total in one hour

Aidan drives to school and back each day. The school is 16 miles from his home. He averages 40 miles per hour on his way to scho
Fed [463]
First we have to answers stand that speed is equivalent to the distance traveled in a certain time span. That is speed = distance/time. Conversely, time = distance/speed. We are asked to find the speed going home given, distance, total time and speed going to school. We can answer this equation by adding the time Aidan is spending going and coming back from school

t = (distance to school)/(speed to school) + (distance to home)/(speed to home)

1hour = (16)/(40) + (16)/(speed to home)

Speed to home = 26.67miles/hour
