Answer:

 h/x = y/h . . . (one of 4 possible solutions; see below)

Step-by-step explanation:

You will note that when

 a/b = c/d

is cross-multiplied, you get ...

 ad = bc

That is, the product of the "outer" variables (a, d) is equal to the product of the "inner" variables (b, c). You may see this referred to sometimes as "the product of the means (inner variables) is equal to the product of the extremes (outer variables)."

Your expression

 h² = xy

tells you that h can be written as the outer variables, and x and y can be written as the inner variables (or vice versa). As long as you are consistent in your use of variables as "inner" or "outer", it does not matter where you put them. There are 4 ways this expression can be written as a proportion:

 • h/x = y/h
 • h/y = x/h
 • x/h = h/y
 • y/h = h/x

Any of them is suitable for the proof you will be outlining.

Angelina_Jolie [31]
To find the he dividend per share of stock,we can divide the dividends by the total amount of
share:

120000÷40000
=$3

If Tim Worker owns 45 shares of stock, his share of the declared dividends would be:

3×45
=$135

Hope it helps!

A tortoise and a hare are competing in a race around a 1600-meter track. The arrogant hare decides to let the tortoise have a 78
Sindrei [870]
I am presuming that the question is who won or by how much did the winner win.

distance equals rate times time, or d = r*t
For the Hare d = 1600 and r = 10
 1600 = 10 t
Divide both sides by 10
t = 160
The hare finished in 160 seconds

For the tortoise d = 1600 - 780 = 820 (due to the head start) and r = 5.3
820= 5.3 t
Divide both sides by 5.3
t = 154.72 (rounded to the hundredths place)

The tortoise won by 5. 28 seconds (160-154.72)
