Answer:

The process through which the water moves inside these cell is called osmosis.

Explanation:

 • The one-celled organisms have some structures called contractile vacuoles which help them to remove excess of water from their body.
 • The water enters in the body through osmomis.
 • Osmosis is the movement or transfer of water or other solvent through a plasma membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a region of high solute concentration, by which equal concentration is achived on the both sides. Osmosis is passive transport which means it does not require any energy.
 • There is high solute(cell organels in this case) concentration inside the cell and low solute concentration in surrounding water and hence water enters inside the cell.
 • It is necessary to expel excess of water from the cell as if the water is not expled from the body then water will continuously enter inside the cell as a result of which the cell will burst(same as raisins burst in water when they are kept for too long).
 • The concentration of salt water is similar to the concentration of the cell hence contractile vacuoles has a little value in the ocean (salt water).

Result: the process of movement of water or other solvent through a plasma membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a region of high solute concentration is known as osmosis.

What effect would the removal of a nucleotide have on the protein?
lutik1710 [3]
For instance, if just one nucleotide is deleted from the sequence, then all of the codons including and after the mutation will have a disrupted reading frame. This can result in the incorporation of many incorrect amino acids into the protein.

Which of the factors likely contributed to the evolution of inducible defenses against herbivory?a. differing strategies for ove
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

Option-(A,D): Consistent fitness benefits of high allocations to defense and differing strategies for overcoming plant defenses among herbivores.

Explanation:

The plants or primary producers are there in order to provide the optimum amount of energy for the different beings to survive, but there are some limitations for each living being itself and for that reason the plant life have also evolved it self not be over consumed by the herbivores or the primary consumers. As the herbivore are also evolving through time as they assembled there system and chemical balances that corresponds to any of the harmful material present inside the plants body and during the ingestion of such body parts the herbivores may be effected. So,they have evolved there body system in order to make some arrangements for confronting any complication faced by them.

The mitochondrial DNA helicase has 612 amino acids. What is the length of the mRNA from this protein is translated ? Show your w
NeTakaya
The answer is 1836 nucleotide bases.

It is known that three nucleotide bases in mRNA are called codon and that each codon codes for the specific amino acid. For 3 nucleotide bases in mRNA, there is 1 amino acid in a protein. So, there are 3 times more nucleotide bases in mRNA than amino acids in the protein. This can be represented mathematically:
3 nucleotide bases : 1 amino acid = x nucleotide bases : 612 amino acids
3 nucleotide bases x 612 amino acids : 1 amino acids = x nucleotide bases
x nucleotide bases = 612 x 3 nucleotide bases
x nucleotide bases = 1836 nucleotide bases.
So, mRNA long 1836 nucleotide bases will give a protein with 612 amino acids.
