Choose one person who you think has authority. What type of authority do you think this person has? Why?
beks73 [17]

My teacher has authority. My teacher has absolute authority because they are in charge of their classroom. They run the show and I would never look to the internet to find answers to answer their questions as that is pretty lazy, especially when my teacher would definitely be willing to help me if I asked for it. So for that reason, I believe my teacher has absolute authority.

Chloe’s mother wants to have another child. However, she is concerned that a second child might also have CF, so she encourages
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

There is no chance that a child of one parent who carries CF gene is born having Cystic Fibrosis if the other parent does not carry the CF gene.

Explanation:

Second child born to Chloe’s mother and stepfather will have Cystic Fibrosis only if they inherit one CF gene from each parent. Since stepfather is not carrier of CF gene, development of the disease at child is not possible.

A person who has inherited one CF gene from his/her parent will be a CF gene carrier, but will never develop Cystic Fibrosis. However as he/she a carrier of the CF gene, they can pass it on to their own child.

During football season, when a team loses, fans will believe that factors other than team performance (such as poor officiating)
earnstyle [38]
I believe this best illustrates self-serving bias.
This term refers to the fact that people are ready to distort the reality, alter their understanding and perception of something in order to maintain their self-esteem, or in order to continue having the same feelings about something or someone. In the case above, fans don't want to admit that maybe team performance wasn't up to par and that it was the reason why they lost.
