What does it mean when someone gets “tubes put in their ears”? Where are they put? Why?
Neko [114]
I'll try to explain, because I've had tubes before.  In fact, I still have them.

For me, tubes were put in because of too many ear infections, and excessive water in my ear.  The tube helped drain the water out.  You can see A picture I have in a file.  The tubes can be put I believe in the ear drum.  They're put there to help drain water that has trouble getting out on its own.

At different places one earth, depending on elevation, air pressure varies. What causes air pressure?
sleet_krkn [62]
Weight of air

Depending on elevation, the air pressure varies. This is because of the weight of the air that is exerting pressure on earth. At higher elevation, there is less layer of air that is exerting pressure so the atmospheric pressure is also less. At lower altitudes or at sea level, more layer of air is exerting pressure so the atmospheric pressure is also more. The sun’s energy has nothing to do with air pressure. The energy that the Earth gets from the sun is more or less constant. The same with density of nitrogen, and the earth’s magnetic field, they have nothing to do with air pressure.

How is stomach acid neutralized in the small intestine
Bingel [31]
"It converts the inactive enzyme pepsinogen into the active enzyme pepsin, which is responsible for digesting proteins in your stomach. HCL also helps digest other foods in your stomach. Ultimately, HCL is neutralized by chemicals secreted in your small intestine." But, use your own words, though. Because I just hit copy & paste. Hope this helps!
