Why was the American army unsuccessful in its attempt to drive the British out of Canada?

Answer:

The Americans army failed to remove the British from Canada because America army consists of many unqualified officers and untrained soldiers. With 12,000 men in uniform, American faced unpreparedness for the war. The Great Lakes controlled by the British which helped in moving supplies and troops. Furthermore, the British received support from Canadians (settlers) and the Native American tribes.
