There are 5 red pens, 3 blue pens and 2 green pens in a box. Ziyad takes at random a pen from the box and gives the pen to his f

riend, Tamer. Ziyad then randomly takes another pen from the box. Work out the probability that both pens are the same color.

Answer: 14/45

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that there is no replacements:

The probability of both pens being red will be represented by P(r), and P(b) and P(g) will represents both being blue and green respectively

P(r) = 5/10 x 4/9 = 2/9

P(b) = 3/10 x 2/9 = 1/15

P(g) = 2/10 x 1/9 = 1/45

Now take all 3 probabilities and add them all together to find the probability that any 2 pen will be the same color

P = P(r) + P(b) + P(g)

P = 2/9 + 1/15 + 1/14

P = 14/45

-BARSIC- [3]

No. The area of a square/rectangle is length * height, and 4 * 20 is 80m^2. Because Yoshi has a can of paint that can cover 81m^2, and 81m^2 > 80m^2, Yoshi does NOT need to buy more paint.

Please sketch graph of the function f(x) = |x+2|.
Burka [1]

Answer:

The absolute value can be graphed using the points around the vertex (-2, 0), (-4, 2), (-3, 1), (-1, 1), (0, 2).

Step-by-step explanation:

The find the x coordinate of the vertex, set the inside of the absolute value x + 2 equal to 0. In this case, x + 2 = 0.

x + 2 = 0

Subtract 2 from both sides of the equation.

x = -2

Replace the variable x with -2 in the expression.

y = |(-2) + 2|

The absolute value vertex is (-2, 0).

The domain of the expression is all real numbers except where the expression is undefined. In this case, there is no real number that makes the expression undefined.

For each x value, there is on y value. Select few z values from the domain. It would be more useful to select the values so that they are around the x value of the absolute value vertex.

Substitute the x value -4 into f(x) = |x+2|. In this case, the point is (-4,2).

y=2

Substitute the x value -3 into f(x) = |x+2|. In this case, the point is (-3,1).

y=1

Substitute the x value 0 into f(x) = |x+2|. In this case, the point is (0,2).

y=2

You can find the graph in the attachment.

In a field, dry fodder for the cattle is heaped in a
ipn [44]

Answer:

volume of fodder=1/3pie R^2h=\frac{1}{3} *\frac{22}{7} * (3.6)^2 *2.1=28.51m^3

l^2=r^2+h^2

l^2=(2.1)^2+(3.6)^2

l^2=4.441+12.96=17.37

l=\sqrt{17.37}=4.17m

minimum area of polythene to cover fodder=pieRl=\frac{22}{7} *3.6*4.17=47.18m^2

the volume of fodder is 28.51m^3 and minimum area of polythene to cover fodder in the  rainy seasonv47.18m^3
