A factory worker conducted a test on a random sample of 150 products. I love the products tested, 2 were found to have defects.
VikaD [51]
So what you would do is 3000 divided by 150 which is 20 then you would multiply 20 by 2 which is 40 so 40 is most likely defective.

The graph below shows the height an elevator travels, y, in x seconds:
ad-work [718]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 25 (ft/s)

Step-by-step explanation:

The "rate of change" is taken to mean the "rise" divided by the "run". Here, adjacent points differ in their y-value by 25 ft and their x-value by 1 second.

The rate of change is ...

 rise/run = (25 ft)/(1 second) = 25 ft/second

Usually, we're just interested in the numerical value: 25.

_____

Additional comment

The graph is mis-labeled. It is not showing "rate of ascent." It is showing height as a function of time. The "rate of ascent" is the slope of the line on the graph, not its value.

describe how making a list can help you solve a math problem.Write a problem that could be solved by making a list.
uranmaximum [27]
Making a list helps organize the information in a word problem that can otherwise be overwhelming and confusing. Making lists put out a straightforward guide and help you break down the problem so you really understand what you need to do.
Word problem:
Maya has $55 and she gives her brother $10. She also gives her friend $15 and her sister $5. Her sister pays her back fully but her brother only pays back half of what he owed, promising to pay her back later. Her friend gives back 1/3 of what she owed, also promising to pay her back as soon as she can. How much money does Maya currently have?

In this problem, you have to process the money transactions and making a list will help you go step by step.

What are the first 5 terms of 4n+4,8n+3and 18-3n?Please?
dimulka [17.4K]
Assuming the first 5 terms are:

n = 0
n = 1
n = 2
n = 3
n = 4

a) 4n + 4
4(0) + 4 = 4
4(1) + 4 = 8
4(2) + 4 = 12
4(3) + 4 = 16
4(4) + 4 = 20

b) 8n + 3
8(0) + 3 = 3
8(1) + 3 = 11
8(2) + 3 = 19
8(3) + 3 = 27
8(4) + 3 = 35

c) 18 - 3n
18 - 3(0) = 18
18 - 3(1) = 15
18 - 3(2) = 12
18 - 3(3) = 9
18 - 3(4) = 6
